Curriculum and Course Offerings   

Our curriculum centers around the inquiries our children develop through their authentic interests. We are centered in the Reggio Emilia Approach to education and The Project Approach. Our curriculum promotes growth in all of the Florida Content Standards with a wide variety of activities in S.T.R.E.A.M – Science, Technology, Reading and wRiting, Engineering, Art, and Math, with an emphasis on social justice and culture. We utilize UFLI Foundations as our Literacy curriculum. Our programs are structured and designed to provide the foundation of skills essential for children to excel in kindergarten and beyond.

Literacy

Reading Aloud and Emergent Comprehension; Print Concepts; Oral Language, Listening, Vocabulary, and Concept Development; Letter and Sound Knowledge; Phonological Awareness and Phonics Connections; Emergent Writing

Mathematics:

Number Sense and Operations including Counting, Addition and Subtraction; Measuring, Comparing, and Categorizing; Algebraic Reasoning; Geometric Reasoning; Data Analysis and Probability

Social Studies:

American and World History; Geography; Economics; Government; Citizenship; Sense of Self, Families, and the Community; Cultural Studies; Historical Figures; Innovations; Exploration

Science:

Earth Science; Life Science; Physical Science; the Five Senses; Properties and Motion of Objects, Sound, Pushes/Pulls, Gravity, the Day/Night Sky; Size and Distance of Objects, Plants, and Animals

Art and Music:

Line, Shape, Color, Value, Space, Form, and Texture; Exploration of different art styles, mediums, and artists, Sound, Rhythms, Tempo, Volume, Exploration of different music styles, instruments, and musicians
